Merry Christmas. It's been the Astrofamily tradition to keep in touch with friends and family with corny personal thoughts on Christmas. 12 more days before the year ends, and as timely as always, Christmas is the best time to "exchange" communication and connect with friends on what's been going on. We would be excited to hear from you. Here's ours to the tune of 12 days of Christmas of what we got, going and will be going.
1st, JOB & BUSINESS: Being immersed with our job or Myla with Sam and home business, we all look forward for a break and Christmas should be that time of the year.2nd, GOALS: We thought we did our best but like any business start up, we were not able to meet our goal this year. Just look back and appreciate what we got and Christmas should not just be the time of the year.
3rd, GIFTS: We thought who need more things, we should give those away but then why should we give "things"(Myla's first time to shop at 5 a.m. in the mall with sis-in-law Chat) when we could give time to others, Christmas should not just be the best time to give prayers and time instead of just "things" but everyday.
4th, TRADITIONS: Myla thought she should give me another pajama or cushion sleepers, I thought I should get a Wii or an LCD TV for our bedroom, I thought she was right. We'll keep a tradition that will not pass the time like Playstation 1 or VHS (Wii and LCD too should pass). Pajamas had the test of time and Christmas is the best time to keep that "giving" and "humble" traditions.
5th, TRAVELS: Traveling (our road trip to Tennessee) this year not only taught us to see God's magnificent creations but spending time together with many culture and diverse way of life we know that He has plans for us whether we choose our own destiny, God is in control, He kept us safe in travels and Christmas is the time to reflect where we've been and where we are going.
6th, CAREER: Tony (besides as counselor for Nuke and Submariners) has been busy completing his Masters of Divinity (Regions University) but decided to give up and start focusing in helping with the home business because we believe that we don't need a formal study of the word of God to serve Him and know Him and teach or preach about Him. Our Bible Home Shepherd group, Sunday school with Kindergarten and daily devotions teaches us more and serving Him more than anything else and this Christmas, we celebrate our service.
7th, WEATHER & HEALTH: Myla's struggle from New England cold (snow haven't hit us yet) & hot weather, toddler syndrome (terrible 2 Sam), terrible MVOSS customers was a roller coaster of sort, resulting in some physical pain. But we know that medicine was not the answer rather it was giving up to our Savior whose birthday we're celebrating this time of the year.
8th, CHILD OF WONDER: Sam, you've seen over 50 of his videos on Google and you can tell that this year has been fun, funny, fantastic, and full of action. He enjoys and collected matchbox cars but loves books as well. He's scared of thunder yet he love to be tickled every night and this Christmas, he broke 3 Christmas balls, damaged the toy train around the Christmas tree and crazy about our Snowman dancing stuff toy.(Secret: he's getting another matchbox toy car for Christmas)
9th, PARENTS: Mama Elena (Tony's mom) is still lovely, funny, healthier and enjoying life at Harbor Point Chalet Retirement home in Oxnard, CA. She recently spoke with son Ben (our brother) and Papa Carlito (via two way) from the Philippines for the first time after many years. I think this Christmas will still be complete with Mamita even without us physically and she knows the Birthday Kid this Christmas.
10th, FAMILY: Nanay Pet (Myla's mom) just went back home to the Philippines and her 6 months stay with us and RJ, Loida and Lando was enjoyable and emotional but Tatay misses her so much and there is no place like home in the Philippines and there is no place like Christmas Parol, Simbang Gabi, Karoling, Noche Buena, Bangketa shopping, Monito Monita like in the Philippines. We definitely celebrate our Savior's birth this time of the year in Filipino style (and we miss all our kapamilya and kaibigan sa Pinas, cross my heart)
11th, FRIENDS: Friends (yes you!) and Family (yes you!) know that this time, we (the Astrofamily) try to send a new and renewed message every Christmas to everyone and may not sound personal or individual but we hope that you listen and know that keeping in touch with you is not just a message of hello, hey, what's up but "Friends, family, we all have our Father who LOVEs us so much and his son Jesus is born and He died and saved us from hell and this time of the year is the time to know Him and savor the moment of the birth of our savior"12th, SAVIOR: He died and gave us grace; it's the best gift anyone can get. MC: Merry Christmas, more appropriately, this season: Meet Christ
Please send us your mailing address, would appreciate keeping in touch with you via slow mail as well.
Sam, Tony & Myla
